This Is My Family
July 22nd 2003, 11:12am

A few weeks ago we had a family get-together. Over a hundred people attended, some of whom I've never met before, and many of whom I haven't seen for a very long time. We had to wear name badges so we knew who everyone was. Some people, including myself, had left by the time the family photo was taken.

Moving Around
July 21st 2003, 10:23am
When I got back to England I stayed at my parent's house for a week, before moving in to the church house in Coventry. A week later I had to move out of there and I moved into Roger and Sally's for a week. Now I've moved to James and Jane's house, and next week I move back to the church house. A week later I go on camp for a week, before returning to the church house for a few weeks. The church house is then moving to Earlsdon, at which point I'm actually going to be staying put for the forseeable future.

Open Road
July 12th 2003, 7:31pm
After all my photos of chaos on the roads in Kenya, I thought I ought to balance it out with some photos of chaos on the roads in England. What do you think?
(Note to Kenyans: That red thing is a traffic light. In England, red means 'stop', not 'oh look, the traffic lights are working'.)

The red light in estonia for many means, oh good ,we can go and smash into someone trying to cross the road.

AMM Concert
July 11th 2003, 9:57pm
I've just been to the annual Academy of Music Ministry Concert, and it was the best yet. For those of you who don't yet know, AMM is a music school which doesn't just teach you to play good music, but 'equips young people for every area of music ministry', to quote their website.
One first year band called "Dweeb" particularly stood out, partly due to the antics of the band on stage. I really want to get to see them play again. The other bands were pretty good as well. Although my guitar playing has improved loads over the last year, I'm going to have to put in a lot more practice before I get as good as some of those guitarists.

Sunday
July 7th 2003, 8:21am

Had a good day yesterday. Went to church in the morning and was pleased to discover that I still know lots of people even after a year of being away. After church some of us went to the Saxon Mill which is a pub near Warwick, where we had dinner on the picnic tables outside by the lake.

We went back to Sarah's house in the afternoon and played Extreme Uno, which was frantic fun for all the family, apparently.

We then went on to Coombe Abbey where we kicked a football around for an hour or so before going back to Mark's to watch Catch Me If You Can on DVD. I got back home at midnight, so I count that as a good day.

Haircut
July 3rd 2003, 8:34pm
Nearly 8 months after my last hair cut I finally got round to getting it cut again. I got up this morning and my hair was annoying me too much, so I got it all cut off. My family say I now look like me again, but I'd got used to having too much hair and I don't recognise myself in the mirror any more.
