Quote Me Happy
August 28th 2003, 2:35pm
I finally have my insurance sorted out at the new address, where I'm now paying £345, as opposed to the £720 that the other insurance company wanted. I mentioned that I'd got a quote of £390 the other day - but today I went on the internet again and they quoted me £405, so I phoned up and I got the £345 quote. It all seems a bit random really.

Hooray, I have broadband at home again! It's actually installed for the church office (which is the downstairs part of this house), but I've installed network cabling so I can plug my laptop in in any room in the house. Except for the kitchen and bathroom. I'll probably start posting a lot more entries on here now that I don't have to do it at work.

Insurance
August 15th 2003, 2:48pm
This morning I phoned up my car insurance company because they hadn't sent my document through yet. I then realised I needed to let them know my change of address, and they said it'll cost me another £360 to live here (on top of the £360 I'm already paying). So I asked if I can cancel my insurance, and they said all I need to do is return the documents. Which they haven't sent yet.
I did a quick search on the internet and managed to find another insurer who would insure me for £390. I would name the evil company who wanted to bankrupt me, but I'm sure the new one would do just the same given the chance.
I wonder if I could get insurance against being done over by my insurance company?

There's bound to be one who would try.
This kinna thing sounds worryingly normal.

I got my documents through the post this morning, and they have the wrong car on them. I wonder if I can get a complete refund because they haven't actually been insuring me? (The temporary certificate was correct, but the new one has my old car on it).

wouldn't that mean it has been illegal to drive your car for however long you had the new one?

No - the insurance on my other car allowed me to drive any car thrid party. But if the Golf had been stolen it wouldn't have been insured.

The Water's Out...
August 9th 2003, 2:36pm

...you may wash up. One of the phrases you would have been hearing regularly over the last week had you been on WEC Teen Camp, which is where I have just returned from.
I've been going to Teen Camp since I was fourteen, and I've only missed a two or three years since then - most recently last year, because I was in Kenya. It was probably one of the hottest camps I've been on so far, with not a drop of rain. Although on the last couple of days the clouds did come down so low that everywhere was a bit damp.
I'm very tired, and now I have to move house. Deep joy experience.

WEC camps, What kind of idiot would go to one of those? (incidentally I shared your tent).
Like the website by the way, the entrance page is kinna unnecesary but otherwise a good site that shows your prowess in web design. Although all your web logs appear to say "posted by James Ots" is this some stolen script? or just the way people make websites?

The entrance page is there so that when the site is down I can point people somewhere else. The blog code was written by me, and I've made it so that other people can post if they have a password. I've just not given anyone else a password.
Nice to hear you liked the site though.

So, the guestbook type script is completely unneccesary?
Comment posted by James Ots at 2:36pm on August 9th 2003
A guestbook type script is necessary if you want a guestbook. A blog type script is necessary if you want a blog.
By the way, I don't know your email address, so unless you let me know what it is I can only communicate with you like this!

I would give u an e-mail address but hotmail doesn't seem to be working at the moment. When I get it working you'll be the first to know.

I meant the multiple users part of the blog script.
