New Cameras Please
June 26th 2004, 2:41pm
This week I bought a very new camera and a very old one. The new one has been ordered from the States and is a Canon EOS 300D. I can't wait to get my hands on it. The old one was bought at Antique Adventure in Coventry and is a Kershaw Eight-20.
I went to the antiques shop because Nathan texted me to say he'd seen a copy of T. E. Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom there, which I've been looking for for a while. I drove down there immediately and discovered this amazing warehouse-like shop, full of really cool stuff, most of which seemed really cheap. Seven Pillars was a really nice two volume set in almost perfect condition, so I took that. I then found several more really nice books, before stumbling upon the camera which I just had to take as well.
The moral of this story is, if you like old books and other stuff, don't go to Antique Adventures, or you'll end up with very little money.

Buzzword Bingo
June 20th 2004, 4:58pm

Today at church I made notes during the sermon. Some of the phrases I noted down were 'Ambassadorial Relationship', 'Bastardization of the Universe', 'Universality of Apostolic Frequency', 'Density of Medium' and 'Human Touch Point'. No idea what he was talking about, but the phrases he used made me laugh. I don't think that was his intention.

After the service I went out for a barbeque where I met a lot of students whom I've seen around a lot but never really talked to before. One of them asked me if I'd finished my exams yet. I finished them seven years ago. After that I went to Warwick Uni campus to watch Revelation perform in the Warwick Student Arts Festival.

Pride of Coventry
June 8th 2004, 5:37pm
The new Coventry rugby stadium is being built just round the corner from where I live, and it's nearing completion. Today I noticed its name: Butts Park Arena. I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere. Despite that, I'm still looking forward to watching a few rugby games there when it's finished. It's a shame Coventry aren't in the top division, because then I could watch them getting trounced by the Tigers.

On Not Getting Bored At Church
June 6th 2004, 3:42pm
This morning we had a visiting speaker at church who is notorious for going on for ages. So I turned up at the end of the service and I plan to get the CD instead, because then I can turn it off when I'm bored instead of having to sit there for two hours in a sweaty room (and I can open the windows too). He says some good stuff apparently - he just takes far too long saying it.
After church (for everyone else anyway), we went to the pub for dinner. Ralf took a load of photos with my camera while I was ordering my food, and I presume he wanted them published on the website, so here is one of them.
