When I shared a house with Dave and Mark they kept trying to persuade me to go climbing, but I never did. But a few weeks ago I went for the first time and really enjoyed it, so now I have a harness and shoes and stuff like that and I’ve been once more and plan to go regularly.
But there are lots of other things I’d like to do. Sailing is something I’ve always enjoyed, and I went along to Draycote water a couple of years ago (that’s where I drew the picture) but decided it was too expensive, but this year I think I’ll do it anyway. I also want to get into doing archery, and I might try out some shooting as well (I was in the gun club at Warwick Uni for one year, but never actually went along to anything!).
The other thing I’ve wanted to do for ages is fly a helicopter. When the RAF came to school I asked them about it but I wouldn’t have been able to fly for them because of my short sightedness. But one day I want to be able to fly one privately.
Then there’s about a million other things I want to do, like travelling round the world (Estonia is high on the list, followed by the rest of Europe – as I’ve never been there yet), getting in a band, learning to do oil paintings properly, ride a horse, sail round the UK, invent something and live off the royalties, write a novel, win the booker prize, become prime minister… Oh, perhaps I’m getting a bit carried away…
