Well, we’re not actually in France at the moment, but I can’t remember how to say that in the past tense. It’s a long time since I studied French at school. But the point is, Naomi was over for a fortnight just after Christmas, and one of the things we did was to go to Paris for a couple of days. We stayed in a hostel just below the Sacré-Coeur, and spent most of the two days walking a lot. We saw most of the famous landmarks of Paris, ate a fair amount of bread, cheese and pastries, and I got a few photos, which I may add to the photos page. Or may not, because it’ll involve me having to add a new section to the menu, and I’m not sure I can be bothered.
As well as going to Paris we also went down to Bournemouth to see my brother, and to Sheffield to see my sister. And to Leicester of course, to see the rest of my family. We also went to Hay on Wye to go to the bookshops, and so that Naomi could add Wales to the list of countries she’s been to. I drove one thousand four hundred miles altogether during the two weeks she was here – just over half the distance we travelled during the two weeks I was in Canada last Christmas.
Now it’s going to be a few months before I get to see Naomi again, which is far too long to not see my fiancée for. But I have to sort out a load of things before I can go over. Hopefully I can make it there in April though.
