2. Cranachan

For my second food, I made cranachan, using this recipe. It wasn’t the greatest success. I reduced the amount of whisky as I only have Aberlour A’bunadh at the moment, which is cask strength, but I think that was a mistake as I couldn’t taste the whisky enough. I probably only had two thirds of the amount of raspberries required, so it tasted mostly of cream. And when I tried to fold everything in, I ended up pretty much just mixing it.

Sure, it tastes nice, but it wasn’t quite right. Oh well, meringues tomorrow, perhaps.
