Three Weeks In The UK

We’ve been back in the UK for just over three weeks now, although it seems much longer. We flew into Glasgow, hired a car (a Mark 5 VW Golf, which is the best car I’ve driven yet) and drove up to Comrie Croft for Andrew’s wedding.

It was pouring with rain the day before the wedding and the day after, but on the day of the wedding it was hot and sunny – a good thing, not only because it’s nice to have good weather on your wedding day, but because their wedding was in a clearing in the woods on the side of a hill.

The day after that we drove down to Leicester to my parents’, where we stayed the night before moving on to my aunt’s house in South Kilworth (in the far south of Leicestershire), where we’ve been staying since then.

We’ve been busy house and job hunting, (well, Naomi has been job hunting – I’ve been working as usual), and doing lots of visiting. A lot of people have had us round for dinner since we’ve been back, so I’m going to have to start playing squash again, otherwise I’ll start putting on weight.

We have now found a house in Earlsdon, and we’ll be moving into it as soon as we can. My aunt’s house is really nice, but it’s a half hour drive to Coventry where most of my friends live, and over an hour to get to work. We’re really looking forward to finally having a place of our own.

Oh, and we currently only have dialup internet at home, hence the lack of bloggage recently. I’m hoping to get 16Mb broadband at the new place, so then I can blog loads and loads and loads!
