This week I bought a very new camera and a very old one. The new one has been ordered from the States and is a Canon EOS 300D. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The old one was bought at Antique Adventure in Coventry and is a Kershaw Eight-20.
I went to the antiques shop because Nathan texted me to say he’d seen a copy of T. E. Lawrence’s Seven Pillars of Wisdom there, which I’ve been looking for for a while. I drove down there immediately and discovered this amazing warehouse-like shop, full of really cool stuff, most of which seemed really cheap. Seven Pillars was a really nice two volume set in almost perfect condition, so I took that. I then found several more really nice books, before stumbling upon the camera which I just had to take as well.
The moral of this story is, if you like old books and other stuff, don’t go to Antique Adventures, or you’ll end up with very little money.
