I’ve been in Canada for nearly two weeks now, so I think it’s about time I put another posting on my blog. I would have blogged a while ago, but I wanted to wait until I had a photograph to post as well.
I got plenty of sleep on the flight over here, so it didn’t take long to adjust to the time difference. I’m quite tired though, as I’m staying with some people in the NW of Calgary, and Naomi lives in the SW, so I have to drive between the two places every morning and evening – so I get less sleep than usual. This morning I slept in though, so I don’t feel quite so tired.
For the first week or so when I go here, it rained. And no, it didn’t make me feel at home, because when I left the UK it was hot and sunny! But it’s hot and sunny again here now, so yesterday Naomi and I drove over to Canmore to have lunch with a friend of hers. (The church is in Canmore). Afterwards we had to move the car as the parking spot was only for two hours, but as we started to drive we decided to just get back onto the Trans-Canada Highway and keep driving west.
We stopped off quite a bit to take photos on the way (and on the way back), and ended up in BC at the spiral tunnels, where we turned round and came back.
The photograph above is at a creek by the road just east of the tunnels, but I can’t remember the name of it. It was a bit like Sherbourne Creek, but it wasn’t that. (The Sherbourne is a river in Coventry.) Does anyone know where it is? The photo on the left is from somewhere else. I forget where.
The rest of the time here has been spent either with Naomi or working, fixing the car or watching the world cup. I didn’t get to watch the England v. Ecuador game this morning was it was on a channel we don’t get, but I hear it wasn’t very interesting. I will get to watch the next game, but from the way England are playing it’ll probably also be their last. (Although Portugal did their best to make it easy for us, by getting two of their players sent of during their match this morning.)
Great photos. I like the one of the Creek.
Hope weeding plans are going well. Of course I really mean wedding plans!!
Vicki’s really looking forward to meeting Naomi.
When’s the big day, hope it doesn’t clash with the world cup final!!
